Luwak Guardians unite

The luwak needs our help! A group of concerned individuals have come together to raise awareness about the cruelty behind the kopi luwak trade. Kopi luwak has the potential to become a rampant trade in Singapore as the prestige and novelty of drinking “civet poop coffee” catches on with coffee lovers. Coupled with the recent explosion of cafes on the local scene, this issue could well spin out of control.

A recently aired BBC documentary revealed the horrifying secrets behind kopi luwak. Civets (a.k.a. common palm civets, Paradoxorus hermaphroditus) are being farmed under alarmingly poor conditions, severely violating the principles of animal welfare. The world should be made aware of this unethical trade, and take action to stop this torture.
